What is CIE
CIE, also known as the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), is an organization dedicated to worldwide cooperation and the exchange of information in the field of light and lighting. Established in 1900 as the International Commission on Photometry, it was restructured as the CIE in 1913 and has since become the leading authority on light and lighting.
The CIE’s primary objectives include facilitating international discussions on matters related to light and lighting, developing standards and procedures for metrology in these fields, providing guidance on the application of principles and procedures for international and national standards, and publishing reports and publications on various aspects of light and lighting.
