What is Amber Light

Amber light, in the context of the lighting industry, refers to a specific color of light that falls within the orange-red spectrum. It is commonly used to provide warm illumination at lower levels. One way to achieve an amber light is by applying an amber cover over a white light source. These covers have the advantage of not only producing amber light when needed but also allowing for white light when the amber effect is not required.

Amber light is particularly useful in care environments where it is important to minimize disturbances to patients’ sleep and circadian rhythm. The low levels of warm light provided by amber solutions do not disrupt sleep, but still offer enough illumination for patients to see their surroundings and navigate the room if they wake up. This makes amber light a valuable tool for maintaining a soothing and comfortable environment in healthcare settings.
