Wat is lichtsensor
A lichtsensorOok wel fotosensor of foto-elektrische sensor genoemd, is een apparaat dat de aan- of afwezigheid van licht detecteert en meet. Het is een foto-elektrisch instrument dat lichtenergie of fotonen uit het infrarode tot ultraviolette spectrum omzet in een elektrisch signaal, meestal in de vorm van elektronen. De lichtsensor genereert een elektrisch uitgangssignaal dat overeenkomt met de ingevoerde lichtenergie.
Lichtsensoren werken op basis van het principe van het foto-elektrisch effect, waarbij bepaalde materialen elektronen uitzenden wanneer ze aan licht worden blootgesteld. Ze gebruiken dit effect om licht te detecteren en te meten. Lichtsensoren gebruiken een lichtgevoelig materiaal, zoals een fotodiode of een fototransistor, dat een elektrische stroom genereert wanneer het aan licht wordt blootgesteld. De intensiteit van het licht bepaalt de grootte van de opgewekte stroom.
