O que é a potência da vela
A potência da vela mede a intensidade luminosa de uma fonte de luz numa direção específica. Teve origem na emissão de luz comum e uniforme de quando a vela era a principal fonte de luz. A potência da vela refere-se especificamente à quantidade de luz que é emitida numa determinada direção, particularmente na localização central mais brilhante de um feixe focado.
No passado, a potência da vela era a principal unidade de medida para descrever a intensidade de uma fonte de luz numa direção específica. No entanto, foi substituída pela candela, que é a atual unidade de medida padrão da intensidade luminosa. Uma potência de vela é igual a uma candela.
