Qué es Epact
Epact, abreviatura de Energy Policy Act (EPAct), hace referencia a una ley promulgada en 1992 con el objetivo de fomentar la eficiencia energética en el sector de la iluminación. Esta ley establece requisitos mínimos de eficacia para las lámparas incandescentes y fluorescentes, así como requisitos de etiquetado. Su principal objetivo es desincentivar el uso de lámparas ineficientes prohibiendo su fabricación o importación en Estados Unidos. En su lugar, la EPAct fomenta la adopción de lámparas más productos de iluminación energéticamente eficientes.
Con la aplicación de la EPAct, el Gobierno pretende reducir el consumo de energía y promover el uso de lámparas que cumplan normas de eficiencia más estrictas. Esta legislación desempeña un papel crucial a la hora de impulsar el mercado hacia soluciones de iluminación más sostenibles. Garantiza que productos de iluminación del mercado cumplen determinados criterios de eficiencia energética, contribuyendo así a los esfuerzos generales de conservación de la energía.
