PN 정션이란?
PN 접합은 특히 LED 조명 작동의 기본 구성 요소입니다. P형 반도체와 N형 반도체 사이에 형성된 접합부를 말합니다. 이 접합부에서 P형 반도체는 양전하를 띤 정공이 과잉으로 포함되어 있고, N형 반도체는 음전하를 띤 전자가 과잉으로 포함되어 있습니다. 전류가 PN 접합을 통과하면 N형 영역의 전자가 P형 영역으로 밀려나 정공과 재결합합니다. 이 재결합 과정은 빛의 형태로 에너지를 방출하여 광자를 방출합니다.

PN 접합에 사용되는 재료에 따라 방출되는 빛의 파장과 색상이 결정됩니다. P형 반도체와 N형 반도체의 다양한 조합을 통해 다양한 색상의 빛을 생성할 수 있습니다. 예를 들어, 청색 LED는 일반적으로 N형 영역에 질화 갈륨(GaN) 소재를, P형 영역에 마그네슘이 도핑된 질화 갈륨(Mg 도핑된 GaN) 소재를 사용합니다. 이러한 소재에서 전자와 정공이 재결합하면 청색광이 방출됩니다.
