キロワット（Kw）とは
キロワット（kW）は、照明器具や装置によって消費される電力を定量化するために使用される測定単位である。1000ワットの電力を表す。例えば、100Wの電球を10個点灯させた場合、総エネルギー使用量は1kWとなります。これは、各電球が100Wの電力を消費していることを示し、電球の数を掛けると総消費電力が算出される。
さらに、「kW」という用語は、電力会社と通信する際の「需要」とも同義である。これは、特定の瞬間に電気機器が必要とする電力量を指す。例えば、10個の電球と3,000ワットの衣類乾燥機を同時にオンにした場合、総需要または必要な電力は4kWとなる。これは、電力会社が、接続された機器の電力要件を満たすのに十分な電力を供給できることの重要性を強調している。
