콘과 막대란?

원뿔과 막대는 사람의 눈 망막에서 발견되는 두 가지 유형의 특수 세포를 설명합니다. 광수용체라고 하는 이 세포는 다음을 담당합니다. 빛을 전기 신호로 변환 뇌에서 해석할 수 있습니다.

원추체는 주로 색각을 담당하며 망막의 중심부인 중심와에 집중되어 있습니다. 원추체에는 빨강, 녹색, 파랑의 세 가지 유형이 있으며, 각각 다른 파장의 빛에 민감합니다. 이 세 가지 유형의 원추체에서 나오는 신호를 결합하여 우리 뇌는 다양한 색을 인식할 수 있습니다. 원뿔은 조명이 밝은 환경에서 가장 효과적이며 높은 시력을 제공하여 미세한 디테일까지 볼 수 있게 해줍니다.

반면에 막대는 다음에 더 민감합니다. 낮은 수준의 조도 어두운 환경이나 밤에 볼 수 있는 능력을 담당합니다. 망막의 중심와를 제외한 망막 전체에 퍼져 있습니다. 간상세포는 색각에 기여하지는 않지만 움직임을 감지하고 주변 시야를 제공하는 데 매우 중요합니다. 막대는 빛에 매우 민감하지만 원추체에 비해 시력이 낮습니다.
