補助照明とは
補助照明とは、以下のような人工光源を併用することである。 自然光 既存の照明条件を強化または補足するためのもの。特に園芸や温室栽培など、さまざまな用途で一般的に採用されており、植物の最適な成長と発育に必要な光のスペクトルと強度を提供する。

補光は、利用可能な自然光が植物の特定の照明要求を満たすのに不十分な場合に利用される。光周期（日長）を延長したり、冬期や日照時間が限られた地域などの低照度を補うために利用される。光環境を操作することで、生産者は植物の成長を制御・促進し、作物の収量を増やし、栽培期間を延長することができる。
