CIEとは
CIEは国際照明委員会（International Commission on Illumination：CIE）とも呼ばれ、光と照明の分野における世界的な協力と情報交換を目的とした組織である。1900年に国際照明委員会として設立された。 測光学1913年にCIEに改組され、以来、光と照明に関する第一人者となっている。
CIEの主な目的は、光と照明に関連する事項に関する国際的な議論の促進、これらの分野における計量標準および手順の開発、国際標準および国内標準の原則と手順の適用に関するガイダンスの提供、光と照明のさまざまな側面に関する報告書や出版物の発行などである。
