LEDチップとは
LEDチップはLEDダイとも呼ばれ、LEDの中核部品となる小型の半導体デバイスである。電気エネルギーを光に変換する役割を担っている。LEDチップは半導体材料で構成されており、一般的にはガリウムヒ素（GaAs）または窒化ガリウム（GaN）に不純物をドープして所望の電気特性を作り出している。

LEDチップに電流を流すと、その電流は PN接合PN接合は、2つの異なる種類の半導体材料を組み合わせることによって形成される。PN接合では、電子と正孔が再結合し、光の粒子である光子の形でエネルギーを放出する。このプロセスはエレクトロルミネッセンスとして知られている。
LEDチップには、赤、緑、青、白などさまざまな色がある。LEDチップから放射される光の色は、PN接合に使用される材料によって決まる。例えば、青色LEDチップは一般的に黄色蛍光体と組み合わせて使用され、白色光を発します。これらのチップは、一般的に PCBその後、保護ハウジングまたはパッケージに封入される。パッケージはLEDチップを物理的、化学的損傷から保護するだけでなく、機械的、電気的、熱的、光学的なサポートを提供します。
