4路スイッチとは
4路スイッチは、3カ所以上から照明または照明グループを制御するために使用される特殊なスイッチです。照明器具には欠かせない部品である。 マルチロケーション照明制御システムつの3ウェイスイッチと連動する。4路スイッチの主な目的は、コントロールポイントを増やし、階段の上と下や部屋の別の入り口など、複数の場所から照明をオン／オフできるようにすることです。

典型的なセットアップでは、回路の両端に2つの3ウェイスイッチがあり、その間に1つ以上の4ウェイスイッチがあります。3ウェイスイッチの1つが反転すると、トラベラーワイヤの1本を通して4ウェイスイッチに信号が送られます。4路スイッチは、電気をもう一方の3路スイッチまたは 照明器具.同様に、もう一方の3ウェイ・スイッチを入れると、もう一方のトラベラー・ワイヤーを通じて4ウェイ・スイッチに信号が送られ、4ウェイ・スイッチは電気を逆方向に流す。
物理的に4路スイッチは4つのネジ端子を持ち、2組の端子が反対側にあることで区別できる。3路スイッチからのトラベラーワイヤがこれらの端子に接続され、信号の伝送が可能になる。さらに、4路スイッチには接地用のアース端子がある場合もある。
