クレスト・ファクターとは
クレスト・ファクタは、電流または電圧信号のピーク値と二乗平均平方根（RMS）値との比。波形や信号のダイナミック・レンジの大きさを表す測定器の仕様である。クレスト・ファクタは、入力信号の品質を示すために使用され、ピーク対実効値比の尺度となり得る。
照明業界では、さまざまなタイプの負荷がさまざまな電流波形を示し、その波形の波高率はさまざまです。ヒーターや白熱灯などの抵抗負荷は、ほぼ正弦波状の電流波形を持ち、波高率は1.4付近です。電子照明バラストやコンピュータ電源のような力率補正負荷は、通常1.4から1.5の範囲の波高率を有する。バッテリー充電器やVSDモーター制御などの非線形負荷は、2.0から3.0、あるいはそれ以上の波高率を持つことがあります。
