エジソンスクリューとは
エジソンねじは、電球の開発に重要な役割を果たした有名なアメリカの発明家、トーマス・アルバ・エジソンにちなんで名づけられた電球のベースデザインです。 白熱電球.エジソンスクリューフィッティングは、センターコンタクトとメネジレセプタクルを備えたソケットと、その一端にオネジパターンを備えた電球で構成されています。この設計により、電球をソケットにねじ込むだけで、簡単に取り付け、取り外しができる。

エジソンスクリューにはさまざまなサイズがあり、各サイズは「E」の文字の後に口金の直径をミリメートル単位で示したもので識別されます。例えば、米国で最も一般的な家庭用電球はE26で、口金の直径は26mm（約1.02インチ）です。ヨーロッパなど240Vの電気を使用する地域では、E27が一般的です。
E26やE27サイズに加え、E11やE12のような小さいサイズは一般的に燭台電球に使用され、E17やE14のような中間サイズもあります。E39やE40のような大きなサイズは、ゴライアス電球やモーグル電球として知られています。E11より小さいエジソンねじ口金やE40より大きい口金の電球はあまり一般的ではなく、特殊な用途があります。これらのサイズは、通常120Vまたは240Vの電気で使用されます。
