IP（防塵・防滴）規格とは
IP (Ingress Protection) Ratingは、照明業界で一般的に使用される専門用語で、水、埃、固体物体の侵入などの外的要因に対する照明製品の保護レベルを表します。2桁のコードで表され、製品の内部部品を保護し、電気的な安全性と長寿命を確保する能力を示します。

IPレーティングの最初の桁は、手からホコリまでの固形物に対する保護レベルを示します。数字が大きいほど保護レベルが高いことを示します。例えば、IP等級0は固形物に対する保護がないことを意味し、IP等級6は粉塵に対する完全な保護を意味します。
IP等級の2桁目は水に対する保護レベルを示し、1mmの降雨に対する保護から1mまでの一時的な浸水に対する保護まであります。この場合も、数字が大きいほど保護レベルが高いことを示します。例えば、IP等級0は水に対する保護がないことを意味し、IP等級9は高圧・高温の噴流水に対する保護を意味します。
照明製品のIP等級を決定するには、以下の試験を受ける必要がある。 進入保護試験IP試験とも呼ばれる。この試験は認定試験所で実施され、異なる製品のエンクロージャ保護を比較するための標準化された方法を提供します。

IP65とIP67はどちらが優れているか
IP65規格のエンクロージャーは、あらゆる方向からの低圧噴流水、結露、水しぶきに対する保護を提供します。洪水のような極端な気象条件にさらされない、ほとんどの屋外用エンクロージャーに適しています。一方、IP67規格のエンクロージャーは、液体の浸入に対する保護がさらに強化されています。
IP65は雨天に十分か
降雨は通常、比較的低い圧力で発生するため、IP54～IP65の定格があれば、スクリーンの保護と乾燥を確保するのに十分です。さらに、これらの定格は、空気中の粒子がスクリーンとエンクロージャの内部コンポーネントの両方に損傷を与えるのを防ぐのに効果的です。

すべての照明にIP等級がありますか？
合法とされるすべてのライトにはIP等級があります。特定の定格が明記されていない照明器具は、IP20の定格を持つものとみなされ、「IP定格」となります。IP等級は照明器具全体に適用されます。
キッチンライトはIP定格が必要か？
キッチンやバスルーム、屋外での使用には、ほこりや水の浸入から保護するために、必ずIP規格の製品を使用する必要があります。
完全防水のIP等級は？
8はIP防水等級で最も高い数字であるため、8で終わるIPエンクロージャは最高レベルの防水保護を提供します。しかし、一般的にはIP68が最も効果的で一般的に使用されているIP防水等級であると考えられています。
IP68完全防水
IP68は、埃や水に対するデバイスの耐性を示す等級である。IP68等級では、デバイスは埃に耐え、水深1.5メートルまで30分間水没させることができる。これに対し、IP67等級は同様の防塵性能を持つが、同じ時間、水深1メートルまでの水にしか対応できない。
