מה זה עמעום (בשליטה ב-PWM)
עמעום (PWM-Controlled) היא שיטה המשמשת לוויסות הבהירות של מקור אור, במיוחד נוריות LED, על ידי שימוש באותות Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). עמעום PWM כרוך במעבר מהיר של האות החשמלי בין מצבי ON ל-OFF, ובכך מפחית ביעילות את ההספק הממוצע. זה מושג על ידי התאמת משך הזמן של המצב הגבוה (ON) והנמוך (OFF) של האות.
שלא כמו שיטות עמעום אנלוגיות שמשנות את הספק המוצא לעמעום נוריות LED, עמעום PWM פועל על ידי אספקת המתח המלא או ללא חשמל ללדים בכל זמן נתון. לדוגמה, במקום לספק באופן רציף 12V, אות PWM עשוי לספק 10V למשך זמן מסוים כדי להשיג רמת בהירות נמוכה יותר.
