正常视野包括从中心向耳朵（颞部）方向约 95 度和向鼻子（鼻部）方向约 60 度的范围。垂直视野的范围也包括中心上方 60 度和下方 75 度。负责向大脑传输视觉信息的视神经没有感光细胞。这就在视野中形成了一个盲点，从中心向耳朵方向（时间上）大约 15 度。
