As luzes do norte, tamb\u00e9m conhecidas como aurora boreal, s\u00e3o um fen\u00f3meno atmosf\u00e9rico cativante que ocorre no hemisf\u00e9rio norte. Este espet\u00e1culo de luz natural \u00e9 caracterizado por ondas ondulantes de luzes verdes, roxas e vermelhas vibrantes que dan\u00e7am no c\u00e9u noturno. O espet\u00e1culo hipnotizante \u00e9 causado pela intera\u00e7\u00e3o entre part\u00edculas carregadas da coroa solar e a ionosfera da Terra.<\/p>

O processo come\u00e7a com o vento solar, que transporta part\u00edculas energizadas do Sol em dire\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 Terra.
