Wat is passief infrarood (PIR)<\/h2>

Passief infrarood (PIR) is een type bewegingssensor die variaties in infraroodstraling detecteert. PIR-sensoren worden gewoonlijk gebruikt om de aanwezigheid van mensen of dieren te detecteren door de warmte te detecteren die door hun lichaam wordt uitgezonden. Een PIR-bewegingssensor bestaat uit twee hoofdonderdelen: een pyro-elektrische sensor en een Fresnel-lens. De pyro-elektrische sensor meet de veranderingen in infrarode straling die hij ontvangt en zet deze om in elektrische signalen. De Fresnel-lens, die bestaat uit concentrische ringen, helpt de infrarode straling te versterken voordat deze de pyro-elektrische sensor bereikt, waardoor een nauwkeurigere detectie mogelijk is.<\/p>

Wanneer een PIR-bewegingssensor wordt geactiveerd, voert deze een kalibratie uit om de basisniveaus van infraroodstraling in zijn omgeving vast te stellen. Vervolgens bewaakt hij continu op significante variaties in de stralingsniveaus, wat de aanwezigheid van beweging aangeeft. Als er een significante verandering wordt gedetecteerd, activeert de sensor een specifieke actie, zoals het inschakelen van lichten of het activeren van een alarm.<\/p>
