스페큘러 표면은 매끄럽고 거울과 같은 표면으로, 다음과 같은 특징을 나타냅니다. 정반사. 정반사는 표면 반사의 한 유형으로, 평행한 광선이 같은 각도로 표면에서 반사되어 선명하고 집중된 반사를 만들어냅니다. 이 현상은 종종 욕실 거울에서 관찰되는 반사나 잔잔한 수면에 반사되는 것과 비교됩니다.

스페큘러 표면은 산란이나 확산을 최소화하면서 빛을 고도로 방향성 있게 반사하는 기능이 특징입니다. 일반적으로 거울, 광택이 나는 금속, 유리, 플라스틱 또는 투명한 액체 표면과 같은 재질과 관련이 있습니다. 스페큘러 반사를 구현하려면 표면의 불규칙성이 광선의 방사 길이보다 작아야 합니다.
정반사 는 자연보다는 인공 공간에서 더 흔히 관찰됩니다. 그러나 고요한 물은 이러한 유형의 반사를 만들어내는 자연의 능력을 보여주는 예가 될 수 있습니다.
