Il est exprim\u00e9 sous forme de ratio, repr\u00e9sentant la quantit\u00e9 de lumi\u00e8re qui atteint la zone souhait\u00e9e par rapport \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re totale \u00e9mise par les lampes du luminaire. Pour calculer le coefficient d'utilisation, plusieurs facteurs sont pris en compte. Il s'agit notamment du facteur d'utilisation de la pi\u00e8ce (utilance), qui tient compte des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissantes des surfaces de la pi\u00e8ce, et de l'efficacit\u00e9 du luminaire, qui tient compte de l'efficacit\u00e9 du luminaire \u00e0 diriger la lumi\u00e8re vers la zone souhait\u00e9e.<\/p><p>Les techniques de simulation, telles que le ray tracing, sont souvent utilis\u00e9es pour d\u00e9terminer le coefficient d'utilisation. En cr\u00e9ant un mod\u00e8le 3D du luminaire et en tenant compte de facteurs tels que les caract\u00e9ristiques des LED, la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie du luminaire et les conditions de fonctionnement, la simulation calcule la puissance lumineuse du luminaire. Cette \u00e9mission est ensuite mesur\u00e9e sur diff\u00e9rents plans \u00e0 des distances variables du luminaire, et le rapport entre la lumi\u00e8re incidente sur ces plans et la lumi\u00e8re totale \u00e9mise par les lampes repr\u00e9sente le coefficient d'utilisation.
