Es handelt sich um ein elektronisches Bauteil mit zwei Anschl\u00fcssen: einem positiven Anschluss, der Anode, und einem negativen Anschluss, der Kathode. Wenn eine Spannung in Durchlassrichtung an die Diode angelegt wird (Anode positiv und Kathode negativ), kann Strom durch sie flie\u00dfen.
