Den beregnes ved at dividere ballastfaktoren med inputwatt. Ballastfaktoren repr\u00e6senterer forholdet mellem lysudbyttet fra en lampe eller lamper, der drives af en specifik forkobling, og lysudbyttet fra den samme lampe eller lamper, der drives af en referenceforkobling.
